UAH Chargers

• University: University of Alabama in Huntsville
• Founded: 1950

Built as an extension of the University of Alabama, the sports teams representing UAH Chargers have quickly made a name for themselves. While UAH Chargers cover all of the athletic teams at the university, the men’s hockey team used to be one of the most popular. The UAH Chargers men’s hockey team reached varsity status during their time playing and many believed they would go far. 

Unfortunately, due to financial hardships—despite raising $750,000—the team was indefinitely discontinued in May of 2021.
